American invention test lung cancer small breath Tester

United States researchers in the latest issue of United Kingdom on the pleural magazine reported that they invented a small breath testing instruments, can test people's breathing to diagnosis of lung cancer.

For years, experts have learned that lung cancer cells will give off a certain volatile organic compounds. The smell of dog can therefore distinguish between Lung cancer patients breathing and respiratory health of people. The last doctor of high sensitivity through use of the machine (such as chromatography) measurement of volatile organic compounds. Although accuracy is high, but the use of such instruments are expensive and require specially trained professionals to interpret test results.

United States Cleveland Clinic researchers developed a new instrument there is only one coin size, low price, easy to use, easy to interpret. This instrument contains 36 micro-sensors, they will be in contact with chemicals react and change color.

Researchers tested the use of new instruments, of which 143 49 people suffering from lung cancer, others are suffering from common lung disease or health. The per capita on the instruments they breathe 12 minutes. Results show that in each of 4 lung cancer patients, the new instrument would be able to accurately measure three.

Researchers said the lung cancer if diagnosed early, it can be effectively treated, thus saving the lives of patients. Their next step is to make improvements to the instruments to achieve the purpose for clinical application.
